ある日の心覚え

アイデアは、生まれた瞬間から腐りはじめて、すぐに蒸発する。

「覚えているから大丈夫」とか、「忘れるアイデアというのは最初からその程度のもの」という 考えかたは間違っているし、それはたぶん、すごくもったいない。

神様は細部に宿る。面白い概念浮かんで、それをすぐ文章に定着すると、 少なくとも書いたその瞬間は、文章としてすごく面白そうに見える。 ところが頭で「暖めた」発想からは、最初に浮かんだ瑣末な枝葉がなくなってしまって、 なんだかつるんとした、アイデアの「本質」みたいなものしか残らない。

「本質」なんかには何の価値もない。
